Research
CIRMMT's research program is organized into six axes, with working groups coordinated by a team leader. Each axis encompasses several research disciplines, and many members participate actively in more than one research axis.
CIRMMT researchers are active on the international stage and are implicated in five European networks (Sound to Sense-Sense to Sound, Enactive Interfaces, Integra, Brain Tuning, COST ConGAS) and one French network (Consonnes). Several CIRMMT members have important activities in the recording and post-production of works by numerous internationally renowned musicians on major recording labels and in the production of live electronic concerts, both providing opportunities in which many of the research developments are put to the final test of musical relevance.
The Centre's six research axes are:
- Sound modeling, acoustics and signal processing
- Musical gestures, devices and motion capture
- Musical information archiving and retrieval
- Multimodal immersive systems
- Music perception and cognition
- Expanded musical practice
