Research Funding Opportunities
With financial support from FQRSC and McGill University's Vice-Principal Research, CIRMMT is able to promote innovative and interdisciplinary research by offering three types of research funding opportunities to its members and graduate students: Student awards, travel funding and Strategic Innovation funding.
Student awards (up to $5000 for first-time applicants and $3000 for renewing applicants) are available on a yearly basis to new and returning Graduate student members pursuing interdisciplinary research projects within the Centre’s mandate. Click here for more information.
Travel funding is awarded (up to $500 for continental travel and $1000 for intercontinental travel) on a quarterly basis to Graduate and Postdoctoral members presenting their own work at a conference, and who do not have adequate funding sources. Full and Associate Members who have no other sources of funding may also apply. Click here for more information.
Strategic Innovation Funding ($10,000 non-renewable) has been created with the aim of fostering new and innovative research developments amongst members across the Centre’s six research axes. Priority will be given to interdisciplinary research projects containing an artistic component, and inter-departmental/inter-institutional collaborations are strongly encouraged. Eligible projects will involve a minimum of three members (including two full members) from at least two research disciplines. Click here for more information.
CIRMMT's Inter-Centre Research Exchange Program aims to promote a multidisciplinary research network in which graduate researchers can benefit from a broad range of expertise and complementary research directions through a residency at partner institutions. This funding is for research purposes only. Click here for more information.
